Hi, I was wondering if these shoes from Brooks Brothers are actually made of goodyear welt construction. The description does say it is but if you click on the picture of the bottom sole, I do not see any thread that would indicate the shoe is of goodyear construction.

I think the real question here is, do all goodyear welted shoes have a visible thread on the bottom sole?

Yes, they are welted. They have a channeled sole.

Not all Goodyear welted shoes have exposed stitching on the soles.

Not all shoes with exposed stitching on soles are Goodyear welted.

I just got a pair of Peals and the heal rubber/nail pattern is completely different. Are they contracting the work out to two different English shoe makers?

yeah the peal branded shoes are typically made by either c&j or Alfred Sargent. I think beyond those 2 they also contracted out some work to another maker, at a price point slightly lower than the AS ones. *Typically* the C&J are peal branded and priced at 528$, the AS priced at 488. Not sure who made the run that they priced at $468.
