Is this combination as rare as it seems on a blazer? I happen to like it myself, but I'm having trouble finding the right example to buy.

Basically bespoke or made-to-measure only, I'm afraid. Good luck

Why is it that the garment folks have impossible websites??

I have a peak lapel blazer in royal blue silk with peaks that is 2 button.

I think you will find it much more available in the 07 lines. Probably not in 1 button too often however.

Yes, two button blazers are much easier to find. Considering that I wouldn't button the bottom button, I think single button looks cleaner. I am also more inclined towards the casual, and I feel the single button offers that. There's just something about the attitude of the single button, peak lapel jacket which appeals to me. I was going to buy the one in this photo but it got sold from under me. http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/513/0335nw4.jpg (I would not have worn it with anything like those clothes)

I like what I see after a few moments browsing.

the other RTW option is Spencer Hart, pricy but quite nice if you like his style, most would say a straight yes or no, but kilgour's RTW are well made and not over priced as some, or the easiest option would be M2M and then you will more or less get what you want.

also maybe Dior Homme has some too

Thanks for the pics. I've been considering a one-button, peaked lapel, hacking pocket suit with Desmond Merrion in January. Now that I see what it looks like I think I might go for this style. Nice suits.

i am a big fan this kind of suit and i always make my peak lapels with a single button it gives a great sharp and clean look, esp if you wear the suit for partying

Sure. For what it's worth, I prefer the subtler slant to my more extreme slant.

I, too, am meeting with Desmond Merrion in January to begin the process of a bespoke. I keep changing my mind, but I had originally said to him that I wanted a one-button. I like the photos posted here and am now feeling drawn that way again ..... it works very well with the peaked lapel too. I am probably going to go for a 3 piece - I think this will work especially well on a 1b as more of the waistcoat will be visible. Any advice / experience / suggestions?

I had kind of got the impression that single button was formal, what with it being a common configuration on tuxedos, but I consider it to be a good casual look when done right. It has an elegance which doesn't suggest business.

single button/peak lapel is my fave cut. I like it for suits as well as sportjackets. This is from the Member Pic thread I put up a couple days ago...single button, peak lapel, bumfreezer length on the doublevented jacket
