Peak Gap in Presentation Effort by the Sexes

Probably everyone would agree that, throughout the life span, on average females always put as least as much effort into appearance (grooming, clothing, etc.) as males their age do. But are there times when the gap widens? For example, in the United States, might that occur between the ages of 28 and 35?

If you do the work, and find out the function which shows the amount of effort as a function of age for each sex, I am sure one of the mathematical geniuses would be happy to figure out when the gap is at its maximum.

Women allegedly are most "broody" somewhere before 35. Male appearance effort has never been much based on anything instinctual/rational, aside from single guys getting dressed up for nights out and such. By the way, this discussion isn't about appearance effort on the job.

Not to you, but it is since it probably affects coupling. Also, the guess takes into account the lack of time many men of that age feel they have for exercise. Which is a rather male issue, since females always tend toward self-starvation and cover-ups over fitness

Edit: for guys, it might as well be "perceived appearance effort," since for many it's buy cheap stuff and assume that it's flattering, which it won't be if the wearer gets out of shape.

alot of women dress better comparably then men, but its still rare to see them extremely well done

Women look pretty terrible sometimes. I think we just see more of them in fashion, on T.V. and in advertising so we apply that positive well dressed image to all females. A lot are just trendy mall chicks.

What i don't like however is most of the clothing for women have a much better design and the look-price ratio is a lot better. Perhaps thats because i want to bang them, though.

It's probably true that TV exaggerates the gap. That, in turn, might discourage men from making much of an effort.
