I'm just back from Paul Stuart and they have switched partners for the Stuart's Choice tailored clothing from Isaia to Saint Andrews. They had one new Saint Andrews suit in stock, a 10 month navy pinstripe and it was drop-dead gorgeous. They've managed to get SA to soften their shoulder significantly, though there is roping which the Isaia did not have.

PB...The shoe are same as they ever were. Grenson Masterpieces galore. Interstingly, they've added five French made Stuart's Choice models including a saddle shoe which was outstanding. I couldn't get them to caugh up the maker, though.

So, it would seem, same quality as RLPL but lower price?

Is Saint Andrews now doing their MTM too?

Z...exact same quality as RLPL and priced $2800-$2950, so yes, a few hundred bucks less than RLPL. Also, a noticably softer shoulder than RLPL.

Good question about MTM, I'll try to find out.

As per a recent thread on the subject, I think they are Marc Guyot, right?

Sounds right Andrew. They spoke of the supplier as if he were an individual, not a company, so to speak.

I know that Adrian Jules does some of their MTM (I've seen Paul Stuart-labeled suits being made in the AJ factory) and LS and Giliberto claim that Giliberto does Paul Stuart MTM as well.

if they are really French made, they can't be Marc Guyot, because his shoes are made in Italy

My "blake" line is made in italy with french calves. As for the "Good Year" line I made especially for PS, it's sewn in France.

They are great about stocking sizes. www.paulstuart.com has my size in every RTW garment they stock. I just wish PS had more sales.

Thank you very much for your support! I appreciate!
As for Paul Stuart, since my first trip to NYC like 23 years ago, it always has been one of the few shops that keeps on mesmerizing me! I always considered (excuse the "french" point of view
wink.gif
) PS as a New-York "Arny's".
So it's a great honor to have met the CEO, the venerable Mr Grood, a man of immeasurable taste, and to be able to make some shoes for them!
When I was just a teen ,already knowing the kind of work I'll choose, it was this kind of reward and personal achievement I was looking into.
Thanks again for your appraisal!

Cheers
