Hi all - said I'd post pics of before and after results.

I had a pair of Paul Smith starr brogues in off-white. Decided to dye them black and was quite pleased with the results

Sorry about the early photos - they were taken with a mobile phone!

1) Clean shoes with damp cloth / toothbrush
2) Deglazer applied with cotton buds and a different toothbrush
3) 3 coats of Punch permanent black shoe dye (overnight to dry)
4) 1 coat of Punch black shoe cream (overnight to dry)
5) 1 coat of Punch wax shoe polish and buff to shine

I gotta say that's not the direction I would have went. But that being said they look awesome in black. Nice job.

I pretty much followed the guides on this forum (antiquing etc).
Came out really well and I'll definitely get some use out of them.

Oh and I liked them in white too - but I already have the white ones, Ox-Blood and brown. They're a great shoe.

Good results there Stephen. I am curious, in the deglazed picture, is the deglazed shoe the bright white one or the sort of light brown one? Would be smartened up incredibly with some C&J black shoe laces, £1 from their Jermyn Street store.

It's the light brown one - it was still slightly damp I think.
When it dried it was a lot duller and the leather had a rougher feel to it.
It's really strong stuff - should definitely use in a well ventilated area!

It's the Fiebings Deglazer - managed to get from a UK supplier on ebay.
