It depends.

If you're a conservative banker then those could add some significant flair to an outfit.

If you're the kind of guy wih an earing then they're just affected.

+1. I've got a pair of skull cufflinks in plain silver which look pretty cool. The red makes it look cheap. I thought first of all that the eyes were jewelled.

Ruby eyes would be cute though :)

^^ those are a little over the top.

+1 on MalfordOfLondon's post. I also have a plain silver pair of skull cufflinks and they're fun to throw on every once in a while. I work in a pretty conservative office...most people wear the most boring biz casual clothes they can find, so I get some interesting comments when I wear them.

I think anything other than simple, small mother of pearl in cuffs that are descrete and don't cause much attention are pretty tacky.

I like them, but because of the knotted thread find them more casual. I would wear them with a sport coat; probably not with a suit.

I like em....if paired with a conservative outfit. If your sportcoat has frays and sequins witha skull on the back...well...no.

I think if you are going to do the skull cufflink thing, the skulls need to be HIGHLY detailed, otherwise you come off looking like you found a Jolly Rodger prize in a cracker jack box. That said, Ive been on the hunt for the perfect skull links that are detailed like that for years and have not found them.
