Hi Everyone,

A recent discovery I had is the footwear-sportswear brand "Patrick". I find the brand's structure fascinating: apparently, it's a decades-old French footwear brand, with a quite limited presence in its native markets - it seems like it's past its glory days, similar to other European sportswear brands like Kappa.
However, and this is where it gets interesting - in Japan, the brand seems to have been "resurrected" in some way, and it operates in a wholly different way, as if it were an independent company. It retains many of the original designs, and prides itself on keeping the production in France for those. Moreover, the Japanese "branch" has created an offshoot that specializes in a more modern, fashion-forward, Japanese-made items - "PATRICK LABO" (how Japanese). Overall, the "spirit" of the Japanese branch seems to be entirely different.

The Japanese branch of Patrick makes what I perceive as the perfect modern, minimal sneaker - the Genova, and that's why I'm so interested about this brand.

Here are my questions:

1. Is anyone familiar with this brand, and its Japanese branch in particular?
2. An explanation for the discrepancy between the Western and Japnese incarnations of this brands (which are vast - from the catalog right down to the designs of the website), would be very appreciated.
3. Does anyone have an experience with Patrick Japan sizes? Do they run true to size? I wear a size 12 (US) with the UK-made New Balance 1500, do I have a chance wearing the Patrick Genova?

Thank you!
