"Pants" versus "pant"?

Am I the only one that detests it when people talk about "this pant" or otherwise singularize the word "pants"? I've called them pants all my life. Or trousers. Or slacks. Jeans. It's always plural. Now Stacey London has everyone using a singular form. I wanna slap her. Then...well, do other things to her.

Anyone else?

I hadn't noticed the way she uses that term, but yes, I definitely want to do "other things" to Stacy London!

I think it's an industry term. I never used singulars in that way either until I worked in a clothing store in the 80s. Invoices will say "pant tan 12" rather than "12 pairs of tan pants." Same with trouser.

As an Englishman - pants cover your balls, trousers your legs and they're always a pair.
