Hi,

I was wondering if anybody could help me to the find the right size dress pants / chinos. Normally I always thought I'd be an easy 48 (EU) but recently this has gotten much too tight (I blame COVID ?).

Today I was going shopping and was trying on different sizes but even 50 (EU) seemed very tight nowadays. 52 (EU) fit pretty well but the pants were quite too long (unhemmed).

I took some measurements a few weeks ago so here they are:
  • Inside leg about 85cm (or about ~33 inches)
  • Waistline: 94cm (or about ~37 inches)
I guess 1inch / 2cm could be added here since my measurement ?
I'd really be thankful if somebody could help me find the right size. Today I bought some size 26 (EU?) pants, but this seems to be some weird size which isn't very common (at least I couldn't find it anywhere else with the usual brands).

I wouldn’t overthink this. If 52EU fits you in the waist, hips, and seat that sounds like the right size. Length doesn’t matter—very easy to hem the trouser legs.

Your waist measurement is somewhere between a size 52 or size 54 depending on the fit of the trouser. I'm ~36inches/91cm and wear either of those sizes, though typically only wear the larger if it comes with a 54 suit or if it is slim and I need the space for my hips/quads/leg muscles.
