Hello all- I have yet to find a combination that I really like for this S&M linen jacket. I typically wear a light sage or tan linen and cotton pant with it but don't love the look- any thoughts from the forum? I don't want to look like a waiter unless I'm being tipped, but I would prefer tips from you good folk. Thank you in advance!

maybe just blue jeans (both dark and light blue), mid-grey jeans, off-white chino for tone-on-tone and probably light grey dress pants for more dressed up look.

I had not thought of jeans since I very rarely wear them but that just might be the ticket. I will try the tone on tone idea too. Thank you, that's much appreciated!

I have these and a similar pair in tobacco so I will put them together. I had been wearing the jacket with light trousers only but will try to be a bit more bold.
If I'm not mistaken the linen SC you bought is the same fabric code as the off white trousers choice in the link I provided.
You would then also have a suit.

I did this with the brown linen trousers pictured and the matching DB SC S&M is/was offering.
I really love it.

Navy or RAF (postal in the US) Blue tropical weight worsted. I do something similar with a very light tan linen/wool blend herringbone blazer.

That's a brilliant look, DapperP. If my size becomes available in the trousers I will snap them up.

Pearl grey light weight flannels for the shoulder seasons look great with off white/ cream linen. For more casual jeans work. For warm summer parties and heading out on the town white trousers.

Hello! It's great that you're looking to experiment with different combinations for your S&M linen jacket. Here are a few suggestions that may help:

  1. Try pairing your linen jacket with denim jeans. This will add a casual and relaxed touch to your outfit while still keeping it stylish.
  2. Consider pairing your linen jacket with chinos in a darker shade such as navy or charcoal. This will create a more sophisticated look while still keeping it casual.
  3. Try mixing patterns by wearing a striped or patterned shirt underneath your jacket. Just make sure the patterns complement each other and don't clash.
  4. You could also try pairing your linen jacket with a pair of tailored shorts in a similar color. This is a great option for warmer weather and can give you a casual yet put-together look.
  5. Finally, consider adding some accessories to your outfit such as a scarf or pocket square. This can add some visual interest to your outfit and tie everything together.

I bought that fabric in the DB version. I wanted to get navy high twist trousers to pair with it, but they were out in my size. I ended up going with dark brown, which is what I usually reach for when not wearing this with the matching trousers (which I also ended up buying), but I think the dark green I got also work.

There's something about the coloring of the linen and the brown buttons used that make it pair wonderfully with the dark brown trousers I linked (which are almost a charcoal brown). It has almost a dinner jacket and dress trousers vibe.

I bet it would also look good with these:
