Pant Tailoring Question

I've found a nice suit that should fit without too much work, but the pants measure 34 inches. My waist is 30 inches.

I've never needed any change more dramatic than an inch or two, so I'm not sure the limit of reasonable adjustments. Will a good tailor be able to take this much out of the waist without ruining the fit of the pants?

It can be brought in up to 3 inches before you need to have the pant recut, then there is no restriction on amount.

no. There is a pocket problem.
