Fiance brought a GF2 back from Tokyo for me, feels like a nice successor to the GF1 so far. It has a touchscreen interface for certain things (like focus point) which is kind of clever.

I played around with the GF2 and it is a pretty nice successor as you say. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the body. I rather like the more retro stylings of the GF1.

You need to get a Franiec grip on that S95.

PS: Saw the Armoury feature in this month's Monocle - congrats!

Fascinating. These are precisely the three cameras on my list.

I currently own the S95 and am a bit disappointed, to be honest. I feel like I need the step up to a micro 4/3rds, but have been waiting for the GF2 to hit our shores, either for a price drop on the GF1 or for a reason to cop the latest model.

How does the touchscreen strike you? It's been getting a lot of bad rap from the "real" photographers, but all as a matter of speculation, of course.

GF1 > GF2 > S95. The GF1 is a bit more of a photographers camera because it has more manual controls. For a P&S, GF2 or S95 would be fine...

I'd still consider the E-PL1 just for the IBIS personally. The autofocus is a hair slower than the GF1 but is almost as good (older reviews had it slower before firmware updates).

The other option, of course, is to wait for this sucker - http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n100920.html

A lot of people are drooling over it.

I think NEX-5 with the Firmware 3 update (soft keys) makes it a strong contender.

here's my lumix collection: gf1>lx3>tz5

I've since sold off the lx3. the lx3 was nice because its like a starter camera to learn all about photography. fully automatic or fully manual with all the usual settings like aperture mode/shutter mode/ect. when I got the gf1 the lx3 became redundant. the tz5 is the typical PS, and takes great shots with good light, the best part is that i found the underwater housing for it on eBay for $114. So I decided to keep it as my beach vacation/pool party camera.

I just picked up a GF1 last week and have been playing with it since. I think they are quickly disappearing at the $600 price with the 20 mm lense.
