I'm going to be out in the Palm Springs area in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there were any nice/interesting clothing stores to visit. I know there is a nice sized "premium" outlet center nearby, which I will check out. Thanks in advance.

For nearby, there are alot of outlets outside of the general palm springs area. I'm not too familiar with directions, but here are some websites. (Keep in mind that there are like 2 or 3 "outlet" store chains right next to one another. So you can find more stores that you will find listed on one site.) http://www.cabazonoutlets.com/ http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=6 These are the only two I am familiar with. Thanks--I'll visit the Saks and Barneys outlets and poke around the Zegna store. I see there's a Burberry outlet--do they have a premium line of clothes?

The Cabazon outlet mall is one of the three best in the U.S. There's a Sak's in Rancho Mirage I have yet to visit. Don Vincent, which is often on the Esquire Top 100 Specialty Store list, I believe still has 2 locations- one in downtown Palm Springs, and one in Rancho Mirage. Let me know if you need me to find the number for you. Very nice store, very nice people.

Lint Brush: The Cabazon Factory Outlet stores are massive. Plan to spend a couple of hours there. It's right on Hwy 10 about 40 minutes before Palm Springs. The Don Vincent store is in Palm Desert, 73690 El Paseo (El Paseo is the Rodeo Drive of the desert) as are Chapman's, 73199 El Paseo, and The Slack Shoppe, 73445 El Paseo (but the entrance is on the side street San Pablo). Also Roberts Shoes, 73725 El Paso. There really isn't much in Palm Springs anymore. Need some restaurant recommendations?? Andy

Thanks Andy (I sent you an email). I picked up an amazing cashmere sweater from Chapman's last year--will check out Don Vincents and the others you mentioned. Have you been to the Le Bernadin branch?
