I was looking at a suit today from Pal Zileri, it was an off the peg greyish blue with a chalkstripe (it's on their website). The colour looks good but the stripes on the pocket were lined up so badly they must have been sewn on by a blind person. I looked at about 7 different examples of the same suit and found not one that lined up properly, some at least had one pocket that looked ok but not both. I called over the sales guy and told him they looked like rejects and he picked them all up and marched off to show them to a manager. I did not hang around for the feed back.

These suits were US$ 2,500 each, do they deliberately misline up the stripes like this or this just an example of shoddy overpriced Italian workmanship. I notice on their website that the same suit in a darker colour looks perfect with no noticeable flaws.

I really wish I could find the fabric they used so I could get a decent tailor to make me the same suit properly. Anyone know where they get the fabric from ?

If my HK tailor can get the stripes on my pockets to line up on a $1k suit jacket I would hope Pal Zileri could do the same - but remember you ARE paying for the brand so yes, maybe it is overpriced and shoddy.

It was at Lane Crawfords that I saw these suits, Yes I know I could take it to almost any tailor in HK and get them to match the stripes way better. Maybe even some of those idiots that harass people on Nathan Rd could even handle it.

The stripes will line up below the flap, not above it, with the exception of the one stripe forward of the dart. In order to match above the pocket the front has to be cut differently for the different widths of stripe and so is not done in RTW.
