Pairing colors

Hey, so I've got this problem with pairing a certain pair of shoes and jeans. I had a post before, but I didn't get much help. I've got these adidas Hardland hightops, that look really nice, they are black with red(see picture). The problem is they don't exactly go with my jeans because of the denims cut. Plus I don't think the color goes. And I've seen how people sort of have their denim tucked into the shoe a little. Anyway I want to know what the best cut is to wear with high tops. A lot of people have said skinny jeans go good. I just want more opinions. Also what will be the best color to wear with them. Blue just looks terrible with the shoes, and my darker ones just don't seem to cut it. If you known any good brands please feel free to recommend. I haven't tried a lot of other denim brands so please recommend anything good.
