Trailer didn't really give me the "lazy Michael Bay" vibe at all, but yes Del Toro is the main reason I am excited about this. It's a project I have been following for a while and have faith they are going to get it right. I wouldn't assume that just because Hollywood has cranked out some dumb popcorn flicks involving giant robots, that this is such.

I wanted this to be more like Neon Genesis Evangelion but it feels more like Real Steel meets Godzilla.
I'm still interested though since we haven't seen any footage of this "ancient Jaeger" that is written in the synopsis. It could be more bio-mech than the ugly/utilitarian looking ones shown in the trailer.
