In my continuing quest to try out new cobblers in Canada, I came across Dimar Shoe Repair in Guelph.

I decided to try Pablo Hadarits. His facebook pics are regularly updated, and I communicated with him a few times. I finally decided to drop off a few pairs. His shop is not that far from my house, and fairly easy to get to.

I dropped off a number of footwear for his magic:

1. Florsheim boots that need grommets, speed hooks, rubber sole protector, and toe plates;
2. Florsheim spectators getting full JR rebuild, toe plates, and rubber heels;
3. Florsheim 93602s that are getting Vibram 430 soles. The heel counter area also needs a patch;
4. A few pairs of shell cordovan shoes that require grommets, and toe plates.

You just prefer the look of grommets or do you feel that they are superior to the blind eyelets?

May I ask for some details, what is out-sole leather used ? and the heel ?

The outsole leather is JR graffiti. You can ask for regular JR. It's the best sole leather in terms of durability.

Heel is SViG. Pablo offers many choices.

For pricing, best to speak to him personally. He is a really nice guy.

Florsheim boots. I wanted new grommets for first three lace holes, and then speed hooks for last 3.

Also asked for rubber sole protector, and toe plates.

These vintage Florsheim spectators got a full rebuild.

New cork, added leather midsole, JR soles, cat paw heels, and triumph toe plates.

The last repair by Pablo Hadarits. These are vintage Florsheim 93602s that my kids will be using for a craft. Maybe some dyeing? These were in really rough shape. Heel counter had damage and soles definitely needed replacing. I chose the Vibram 430 and Alpes heels. Now they're versatile enough for any condition. Pablo recommended the yellow thread which makes the logo really pop.

As WFH is now my long term situation, I've started an indoor only footwear collection. Mostly boots but adding shoes. I've found wedges to be most comfortable and supportive.

These are Sibleys of Detroit, made by Dexter. Decided to make them look different.

Stafford (JC Penney) brand LWBs. Vintage and made in USA. Leather wedge soles for comfort.
