After trying very hard to hold out for the Bennie's Grenson shipment, I have decided I can't wait any longer.  I am going to order a pair of C&J Audley or Savile in brown from P.LAL.  Can anyone who has ordered from P.LAL tell me who long it takes for the shoes to arrive?

Also, is the only way to place an order by either phone or fax?

Order from Pediwear. They have a price guarantee, and they said that they would sell me the Audley for US $395 (I told them that Plal.com was offering the Audley for $395).

Plal shipping only takes about a week if they have the shoes in stock. It's when they don't have the shoes in stock that you may have to wait. I wasn't aware of Pediwear's price guarantee, but Plal's customer service is impeccable. Also, they sold me my first pair of C&J handgrades for $394.50 including shipping. They had to order them from the factory as they had just run out of stock, but I still got them within 3 weeks.

I had a great experience with PLAL. The C&J that were in stock arrived in about a week, and the pair that had to be ordered arrived in about a month and a half. But, the guy who runs it (long name I don't remember) updates you every step of the way so you never feel left out of the loop.

I also had a great experience with P Lal. Shoes had to be ordered from the factory and arrived in an acceptable amount of time. The service was excellent.

In my case Pediwear never honored its price gurantee. I quoted them a PLAL price for I forget which pair of shoes, but their response was essentially: Damn, that's really low. We can't match that.

They were pleasant about it, but I bought the shoes from PLAL. Mr. Doshi is a joy to do business with.

I odered from Pediwear first. They were willing to match the Plal price, plus an additional 5% off. However, they didn't have either of the shoes I wanted in stock. They were going to have to order them from C&J which would have taken 3 to 5 weeks. Plal had them in stock.

People talking about Plal's prices to Pediwear probably caused the price increase. [IMG]

A long time ago, Plal had to raise its prices about $50 (I think.) Probably due to a complaint from a rival shoe supplier, hlhrlhlbh.

Without going into too much detail, I heard that it was traditional brick and mortar stores (ones with pull) that complained to C&J, who in turn complained to PLal.

I have dealt with both Plal and pediwear, and find both organizations to be first rate in every respect. Of course I would look for the lower price if possible, but Pediwear still beats retail prices in my neck of the woods.

Blargh. Whoever the rat was, I miss my $350 handgrades.

Pediwear is a pretty good site. I've had some very great customer service from them.

I suspect that's exactly what happened. Pediwear ratted out Plal to C&J, and C&J went and busted PLAL's cojones.
