There is an ugly rumor going around that Tom James suits are made by Oxxford. True or untrue? Some of the newer Bespoke Tom James suits look nearly IDENTICAL to Oxxfords in the lapel area. Info?

The top level suits of Tom James are made at Oxxford, the Bespoke ones. The rest are made at a place called English American in Maryland.

At least I4Fashion can exhale now. I bet he's been checking back regularly, hoping that, someday, someone would answer him.

Presumably, the 2P was searching for something--Oxxford?--came across the post, saw it hadn't been answered, and chimed in. Of course, you'd still have to have gone back far enough in the search to find it, while _still_ not noticing how far back you'd gone. Just saying.

Well, it was jave36's first and only post.

Maybe he was a visitor that read over hundreds of threads and thousands of posts.

When he saw a question he could answer ( albeit in the wrong Forum and a year old!), he joined SF and answered the question.

Bravo, jave36.

All plausible scenarios, but I can't imagine someone randomly reading through pages and pages of old posts.

More likely situation is someone working at Tom James doing a Google/or equivalent search about Tom James and Oxxford and came up with the original question.

I'm with grimslade on this one.

A few times, I've actually done it myself. I remember doing a search for Gianfranco Ferre a long time ago and there was an old post by somebody asking if they knew who made the shoes for him. Nobody responded and so, just for information sake and for any future user who wanted to know, I went ahead and answered, even though the time period between the original post and mine was a year or two (and the OP probably long since moved on). I'm guessing that perhaps this poster did the same thing.
