I bought an incredible dual vented, peak lapel blue blazer by Grella from Mack a while back and it is outstanding - his work is impeccable. If you are tempted by the Grella Mack has for sale, I think it is a bargain.

Just an honest opinion of a little discussed bespoke maker. I have no relationship with Grella or Mack - just a fan of both!!

Thanks for kind words.

Yes, Grella is a fanatic. Look at the stiches in the lining, so small and even. He did them in contrasting thread, just so you would notice how well he can do them. This isn't like the flashy pick stitching one sees on other coats. This is just a quiet demonstration of extreme skill.

One other note about all the Grella's I am selling is although they are custom jobs they have no client label inside the pocket, suggesting they were made either as samples or for someone very dear to Mr. Grella. I suspect the coat was made as an act of love.

Lastly, note that a gray striped flannel coat can look great these days when paired with denim or even khakis. Brunello Cucinelli would do it...why can't you?

I think this week's list, 50 items total, is my largest list of bespoke items ever.

One factoid regarding the tweed overcoat: the label was worn by BRIDESHEAD REVISITED's Sebastian Flyte. Louche character that he was, he did not order a suit - rather, he stole it, as one of his erstwhile friends relates to Mr. Ryder, the narrator:

"My dear, he's such a sot. He came to live with me in Marseilles last year when you threw him over, and really it was as much as I could stand. Sip, sip, sip like a dowager all day long. And so sly. I was always missing little things, my dear, things I rather liked; once I lost two suits that had arrived from Lesley and Roberts that morning. Of course, I didn't know it was Sebastian..."
