Oxxford jackets do tend to run long, both in measurements and in the way they look. So you probably made the right call.

I was ready to get it , but the nice sales lady talked me out of it, saying the suit ought to fit perfect for this kinda of money...... please don't make me drive back, please

you probably need an extra inch of height to wear the long - i wear a 42L in oxxford at 6'1" with a 31.5-32 inch inseam for my legs.

Things are worth what you are willing to pay.

I would pay well north of $1000 for Oxxford, Isaia, Kiton, Brioni, etc. that fit me properly. Only you can say whether you would do the same.

I would definitely go for it. I was in the Oxxford store on 57th the other week for their big move-out sale and a pair of seersucker pants was $200+ and that was after 50% percent off! A suit at $800 seems like a definite steal
