That's the sort of thing I'd jump on for $7 at a thrift store and wear with maximum irony, but not the way I'd wear a $1k jacket.

Hey, I think I had that jacket (different model but same fabric)! I liked it well enough, but unfortunately it fell prey to one of the seasonal moth invasions. I think I paid $12 for it and--immsmc--wore it without irony (well, as much as anything can be worn without irony).
Chester Barrie used to use this sort of cloth quite a bit back in the day.
