How do I get information about the Oxfford suit code numbers,
models & specific fabrics etc.

I've just bought two suits from ebay and I'm just so pleased with the quality, sizing and the fabrics that I'd like to know a lot more about them e.g Onwentsia, Seta del Re etc.

Thanks

Phil

The Oxxford maker's tag is found on the lining of the right inside chest pocket. In more recent Oxxford production, the tag lists the store's customer number, the Oxxford fabric number, the size of the jacket, the model name and number of buttons, and a fabric content. Older production, the tag generally just gave the size and model name (on one line), and the fabric number on the second line. A date line was included but was generally left blank.

Owentsia is one of the Oxxford models/cuts. Other models include the Renaissance, Rocco, Salvatore, Manhattan, and Cummings. The Oxxford web site includes a "cloth lookup" feature, though I've never been able to get it to work. It probably is only for current fabrics.

I would guess that the Seta de re is a special silk fabric.
