All my life I've relied on black shoes. They've served me well, and I love them. Recently, though, (very recently!) I've been thinking more about wearing clothes that are seasonally and regionally appropriate. I live in Florida, so this means some brown in winter.

I'd like some advice on which would be a more versatile shoe color: oxblood/burgundy or dark brown? I simply can't make myself buy a tan shoe, so that's right out. You all have any thoughts?

Figure out what you'll be wearing with them and go from there.

Oxblood will go better with blue than brown will, IMO.

On the other hand, dark brown is a more classic color. And mid-brown is a good thing with, say, business casual.

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
