Oxblood or brown loafers?

Oxblood (cordovan) is sort of a standard for loafers in the US, but I want to get a pair from Vass and their dark brown is a wonderful thing. Any logical reason to avoid one or prefer the other?

I like both. To me oxblood/burgundy is more 'trad'. Nice with blue blazer and repp tie. Brown might be a little more flexible. Hard to choose just one.

^ That. For a loafer, black or dark brown. Maybe navy
