Greetings,

For anyone who's ever had oversized shoes.....I received a pair of shoes about 1.5 cm too large and cannot exchange them....are there any fixes for such a thing that are reasonably practical and maintain comfort?

Put an insole in it to fill up some of the room inside. I don't know how much 1.5cm too large is, but you can take up a half size this way easily in most shoes.

well, ordinarily I would prefer about 1.25 cm space up front and there appears to be roughly 3 cm

unfortunately there's a reason shoes come in 15 sizes while shirts are made in 3. because fit is the most important thing in shoes. 1/2 size either way is the real-world margin of error. anything beyond that and you have the wrong size.

The amount of space in front of your foot is a very poor indicator of fit since it varies greatly with the shape of the shoe. Generally, as long as the ball of your foot is in the widest part and there's no exessive slippage in the heel the shoe "fits." What kind of shoe is it anyway?

you will get more use out of (running) shoes if they are a half-full size too big.

my gut reaction was "you'll grow into them", because as a kid i got a lot of hand-me-downs and this was the end all be all solution to any problems i had with fit.
