Overcoat Suggestions

Hi guys!

I am in need of a little assistance. I am shopping for a good overcoat that looks good and is of good quality, but that that preferably won’t break my bank account.

First let me say that I am a Brooks Brothers fan. Most of my work clothes come from there. I had a great Short-Town Coat that the damn moths got to. I have since learn more proper storage methods. I think that I got the coat on sale for around $700. Granted I got a number of years of use out of it before they ate on it, but still it makes me heart sick. Now to replace the coat would cost nearly $1000. I have been so traumatized that I really don’t want to pay $1000 for another overcoat.

I was wondering if you all had any suggestions for me? I have looked at Hart-Schaffner and Marx coats for less than $300. Evidently Obama loves their stuff, but then I am not an Obama fan hehe.

Do you guys have any suggestions for a reasonable price?

On a slightly separate note, I noticed Hickey & Freeman coats at Century 21 for $599.99. Is Century 21 safe to purchase from?

I would still rather spend a less than $600 if possible so I am open to any and all suggestions but it has to look good! As I say I mostly wear Brooks Brother dress clothes if it helps match me up with a good conservative look.

Sterlingwear has a doublebreasted model under $550 IIRC.
