Hi all, fairly new to the forums and already loving the vibes here.

Just wanted to ask for some help regarding the fit of a new overcoat. The sleeve length is definitely going to need alteration, and I’ve folded it to show what it’s meant to be.

Fitwise, I’m not too sure how an overcoat is supposed to fit. I wear a jumper over shirt and trousers most days of the week, and blazers on days I need to present cases.

Do you guys think I should keep the coat and alter the sleeves and maybe take in the waist a little?

In the photos below I had a blazer underneath or a thick pullover jumper.

Thanks!

Sleeves might be a tad long but not very - it's mean to always cover shirt sleeves / suit - so it should go past the wrist. I wouldn't shorten it as far as you have pictured. I also would advise against taking in the waste. It's an overcoat - you should have a bit of room in case you wear another layer or heavier material on blazer underneath. It should not, IMO, be a snug fit.

Looks like you have room through the torso which is what you want for layering under the coat. I'd say it's a keeper.

Definitely some wiggle room in there. Thanks for the opinion ! I will shred the receipt now and keep it :p
