Outerwear Enigma

I teach public high school in Houston, Texas. We have a special fall/early winter weather where it's cool in the morning/evening and hot during the day. As such, out AC's sometimes get overzealous, and some kind of light outer covering is required to maintain optimum temp inside daytimes and outside mornings and evenings.

I usually wear dress trousers with a longsleeve shirt and a tie. Suits are discouraged mostly, so some kind of sweater/jacket thing is required,

Any ideas?
