    Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was some place in Ottawa where you could find W&H, Spruce... or any good streetwear for that matter?

    Thanks!

Is there just nobody from Ottawa here or is it really *that* bad?

Does anyone have anything constructive to say on this thread? I'm sorry, I'd help, but I have absolutely no idea about the shopping scene in Ottawa.

I've never heard of anything decent in Ottawa. My bet is your best chance to find anything worthwhile is Holt Renfrew.

Thanks to you and LA Guy. That's what I was thinking too, that Holt Renfrew might be about the only decent place to shop in Ottawa.

Oh well, if I spend the summer there I guess I'll have less expenditure, that could be a good thing after all. [IMG]

I've been to Ottawa, and to the Holt Renfrew.

To put it bluntly, you're stranded. As far as I know, I may be wrong of course if there have been some new developments, there is absolutely nothing interesting in terms of the sort of thing you're looking for.
Sure, Holt's will have the usual Modern Amusement, CK39 etc etc but Ottawa is basically struggling to keep up with the Abercrombie crowd.

Take the 2 hour trip to Montreal, it may not have WH or Spruce, but there is a much much better scene here.
PM me if you want some places to go in montreal.

Hey, come on, now. It definitely isn't that bad.

There are plenty of places to shop in Ottawa. I've no idea about the brands you're looking for, but besides HR, there are lots of places on Sparks and Sussex. I know Schad Blu carries 7 for all mankind, Nudie, and quite a few other brands. It's limited, of course, because a) it's a public service city (200,000 of the 700,000 people in Ottawa work for the government) and b) because it's small, but it's not the hole everyone seems to be making it out to be.

It is certainly not a hole and Ottawa has many wonderful attributes but, as someone who lived there for the first 30 years of my life, I can say it is very conservative and unfashionable. I second the recommendation to head to Montreal for good streetwear.

But there used to be a good shop called Allegro in the Byward Market, on the second floor on William St. I think it is still there. Worth a visit for street or club wear.

Alter, another fellow (albeit former) Ottawan? Good to see. I'm here now, attending UO. I see by your location that spending the first thirty years of your life here certainly doesn't warrant the same for the next thirty [IMG] Also, your userpic is hypnotic.

Sorry if my message was interpreted as saying Ottawa was a hole.
I don't mean to imply that at all, as a city, Ottawa is certainly very beautiful and I'm sure a wonderful place to live.
But, if you've been to Toronto or Montreal, "in comparison" Ottawa's fashion/availability/shopping is certainly sub-par.
They just don't have the market there, unfortunately.

nairb, you're absolutely right. I didn't mean to come off short. Just rationalizing. Ottawa isn't my home town by a far stretch, although I've been living here for a good ten years, but I've certainly fallen in love with the city.

I should be quiet, anyway, as I do all my shopping in Montreal.

We all know that Ottawa clearly isn't a fashion leader, but at the same time it isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

We are a Boutique in the downtown core that specializes in high-end Menswear. We do carry Wings+Horns, as well as 18Waits, Levis Best Of Red Tab, and various others.

    401 Dalhousie St @ Rideau.
