i find many sock makers dont adequately adjust the length of the calf tube to reflect foot size. if you have a big foot, the calf length should be quite a bit longer than the smaller sizes.
The length and the width. Men with bigger feet likely have wider calves as well. While socks will stretch to cover a wider calf, it "eats up" a lot of the length, leaving them with insufficient material to reach the top of the calf and largely defeating the purpose of OTC socks.

Yes, exactly. So far, all of the socks have been able to stretch to accommodate a 19" calf, but then they're an inch or two short of the crease of the knee. I think I have to size up to the max offering, leaving the Y stitch or heel of the sock on my ankle, just to get enough length.
I'm surprised this is such an uncommon issue. I'm 5' 10" and while my legs are large, they're not the largest in the world. I'd imagine a lot of shorter guys have even thicker legs and must run into this.
