OTC Skin Lightener

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has used or still uses a skin lightener(specifically for men that is available in North America) to even out uneven complexion/remove blemishes? I've tried generic ones that you can buy from retail stores with no results. I basically have blemishes on my back, chest and a few on my face due to moderate-severe acne. I've also tried chemical peels done before from a Dermatologist and it did even out some of the marks but at the same time my skin is very sensitive and don't want to try something so drastic again if there is something good out there.

Which OTC lighteners have you tried? They're not all the same. A dermatologist probably would prescribe a lightener for you, but it would be prudent to try the OTC version first.

I was about to make a similar topic, so I'm glad I found this one first.

Same cause for me, but I actually went ahead and got some laser surgery performed in the summer of '07, thinking most of my acne woes were over and done with. Turned out not to be the case, and so I'm looking for something that might be less permanent, but more readily available and hopefully <$1800, at least until I'm able to get the time and money to go through with the same laser procedure.

Sorry for not replying sooner but I've been a bit busy. I could never find any skin lightener/whitener specifically designed for men so I've tried generic ones like Nivea, Diana Stalder whitening lotion which I bought from eBay and some clear soaps with Kojic Acid. I would've used the Kojic Soap longer but I've seen some redness and tiny red spots on my chest after prolonged use. Mind you, I've tried these products on and off for close to a year and a half now without any noticeable results.

Zeeth, how was the laser treatment and where did you get it? Was there any adverse effects? When I tried the Chemical Peel, I couldn't go out for a week since my face, back and chest was literally black. I had to wait until the old skin peels off and wait for the new skin then apply sun protection after a few days.
