Suggestions welcomed. I was thinking about a (small) something in a little blue box, but would love to solicit other suggestions from the forum. Think student budget, recent relationship, $50-100 token. Preferrably closer to $60-70ish...

+1 And a lot of the lower price stuff is a little bland IMHO (Frank Gehry collection exempted). Maybe look in to things by smaller designers. Things that are more unusual and may show some extra digging was required on your part. Forzieri has some interesting jewellery out of unusual materials, such as glass and wood as well as gold, silver et.c. Zoppini for instance make some interesting designs. example 1, example 2 Depends on her taste really. I got the latter for my wife a few years ago, she loved it. But she is a hairstylist so her sense of style is not that conventional

More ideas: An example of the Antica Murina Veneziano glass jewellery Breil Milano make some nice unusual jewellery - one of her favourite pieces is the Breil Snake. Quite hard to find in the USA, I managed to find the medium length one through the seller ideacharm on ebay (a large Italy-based jewellery shop). ANyhow, give us some ideas on how her tastes run!

Oh oh oh. I just thought of something else. How about you give her as a gift a day at a spa or something of the sort? Then again, don't know how much that would cost, seeing as you aRE IN one of the most expensive cities in the USA... EL72's idea is intriguing. That would depend on how close the two of you are though, naturally

How about perfume? The Jo Malone scents are really nice (tuberose smells just like Fracas) and not very expensive. You could pick out two small bottles for about $100.

Maybe this is too Pacific Rim for the East Coast, but I'm giving my girlfriend a gift certificate to Shi Studio - custom jewellery for CA$75 is just too good to pass up!

Problem solved, within the stated budget. Btw, I hate Victoria Secret's underwear--it's the male equivalent of buying your shirtings at Jos A Banks. The stuff is serviceable, but nowhere near the asking price in quality. PM me if your significant other is a medium and you live in NYC.

I'm Japanese, just not that type of Japanese man. Seriously though. Super nice silk robes and camisoles for $50-60. Stock was exiting at a pretty rapid pace. Retail prices were around $200ish, and even Bluefly has a few things for $120ish.

12/16-12/18 Leigh Bantivoglio, Tibi, and Goldenbleu have lingerie, bags, and clothing on sale for 75 percent off. Loft 11, 336 W. 37th St., nr. 8th Ave., 12/12 and 12/13 (10-7).

The clothing was nice too.

On a budget, recent relationship? I'd suggest a day of pampering: perhaps a day spa and a nice dinner.
