I still say that he beat Mayweather in May 2007 but it is time for him to retire.

For some reason the fight that came to mind was Chavez-Whitaker. But that was a while back.

Too bad he'll never be considered a great Mexican fighter in Mexico. He was always considered too pretty.

and that he was raised in the states. theres always a huge draw with the mexicans in mexico vs the american mexicans. the mexicans dont see them as 100% mexican and they make for good draws.

Did Vargas ever have a large Mexican following?? I know he was a popular attraction for HBO for a while.
