    Hi there!

I know there is a faux pas against wearing orphan suit jackets, but I also know it can be done as long as the jacket doesn't look obviously from a suit (ex. as long as the jacket isn't striped etc). But I'm just wondering about orphan suit trousers... Do the same rules apply?? I've browsed the forum but couldn't find any information... I'm guessing that the rules DON'T apply to trousers as long as the orphan trouser color and odd jacket color contrast enough...

Has anyone seen people pull off striped suit trousers and sportjackets?? It would almost seem like a watered-down stroller look!

    What are your opinions??

Ahh! To be more clear... What I am trying to say is do odd jackets have to be worn with odd trousers???

    Thanks!

It will merely give the impression that your wardrobe is in fact an orphanage.

To those that appreciate clothes they will always look like what the are, to others who don't, even they will think something is odd without knowing what.

IMO, it depends on the fabric. Solid colors and less refined finishes would be perfectly acceptable as odd trousers.

I sometimes have the feeling that my "suit trousers" are generally (cut) different compared to my "odd trousers". I mean, I cannot think of any of my "suit trousers" that I would like to wear as "odd trousers". But maybe it is just that I have ugly "suit trousers". Or I maybe I am just wrong.
Do tailors make the suit trousers different from the way they make odd trousers?
Actually, are odd jackets generally different from suit jackets, when it comes to the cut, or is it more a matter of the types of cloth used for suits and odd jackets/blazers, respectively?

I picked up an nice orphan RL navy blue pinstriped jacket - you know the recent style one. Can you get pants to match anywhere anybody? The jacket cost AUD10 if I could get pants that were a close match I would put the suit back thats worth AUD1500.

I wear my suit trousers as odd trousers; I wouldn't know how they differed from "normal" odd trousers.
