Since you're the LVC guru, do they really shrink that much?

Well DDML I'm still learn'n to bro. I've just been lucky enough to have seen some originals. Not near enough to be expert. But I have become an addict. I can't afford the price for origianls so I have to be at LVCs mercy.

But anybody looking for some killer LVCs should really check the raw 37 201s I accidentally started this thread with. These are getting harder to find raw.

Dick those 37s will shrink. I've had a couple pairs (sold one still have one) and they run small in the waist to begin with. They'll probably wind up around a 34 waist.

But check those origianls. WHOA. If I only had an extra 5 grand lay'n around. But hey there are some jeans out there selling for 5 grand..I think these origianls would be a better buy. At least you know in ten years you would probably make a buck or two.

nice! I still have my pair of LVC 1929 201s and the denim is really cool. it's lightweight 9oz and has a greencast tint to it. The '29 201 was supposed to be a budget model when it came out, but as history doth proclaimeth, it's one of the coolest jeans Levis ever made. Partly because of those budget details (the different denim, the white paper tag, etc)

GS allot of folks that collect LVC say the 555 20s 201s are some of the best of the LVCs. I agree.

Didn't Levis add belt loops in 1922? That would make these older than 1922 then. Should go for BIG $$$$

Damn! I know very little about vintage Levis, but.. current bid 1025$ and the reserve isn't met yet? That's pretty insane.

I thought those sounded really cool so I googled "lvc 1929 201", and this thread was the 5th hit. Ever seen any for sale lately?

The 2004 LVC 1929 201's that I saw in person were aesthetically poor (poor cinch, poor arcuate), it's the 555 stamped 1937 201XX from the 1996 collection that are coveted. The hue of blue is just gorgeous. They have crazy hip flare if you sloutch them but worn 'properly' fit extremely flatteringly. Airfrogusmc is right, they used to turn up on the bay quite frequently and for reasonable money but now are a rare sight in tagged raw form and go for much more.
