Ordering from Japan via package forwarding services….. awful flipping title I know!

I’ve been leaning heavily into Japanese brands and in particular those exquisite things made for their market and sadly only available domestically. This is doubly upsetting when I see a notable decline in online stores and larger platforms willing to ship to the UK or indeed any country since they just don’t offer or plan to offer international shipping. I’m aware of these third party companies that organise forwarding services but those I have read of have widely variable feedback and seem bizarrely expensive. Shippn looked interesting since they rely upon registered members who do the work for you which initially appeared more personable but again I read of hidden charges and sub-charges I mean $200 for a shirt?!? Has anyone here worked with a credible, reasonably priced company who ship from Japan and for that matter, the USA, to the UK? I’m desperately trying to work out an option but it seems oddly difficult and insanely expensive.
