Haha I might wear those once. But I wouldnt 2x, due to the fear that someone would be like "are you wearing THOSE again???"

That toe is a travesty.

If they had a normal toe, they'd be alright for casual wear.

yeah - if you know of any good boot suggestions, I'm all ears. I suck at boot shopping and need new pairs of black and brown boots (maybe chukkas?) for casual wear - especially since you are in my neck of the woods, store recommendations around DC would be great!

how much do you want to spend?

i would get something by tricker's or some other english manufacturer (c&J, alfred sargent, the old grenson footmasters). Something with a round toe and extended sole, not something sleek. maybe check and see what sky valet has? otherwise, online is probably your best bet....

I think I'll need to keep the first few pairs under $200 until I've really defined what I want. I'm tall and skinny and generally wear skinny pants so I was thinking I should lean more towards sleek but I also wear a US12 so I need to avoid the "clown shoe" look.

I'd like to go in-store first and try a bunch of stuff on to get a feel but here in Baltimore we're limited mostly to mall-brands. I'm up for a trip to DC/NoVA but I'm planning a NYC trip for summer.

The sad part, is that if you wore these boots out females would be complimenting them like crazy.

If it wasn't for that godawful toe, I'd actually really really like them. The color is amazing in that picture.

But yeah, the toe completely ruins them.
