Hello SF community! I stumbled upon this suit but before my impulsive finger clicked the BIN, I asked a friend for his opinion and he noticed some "flaws". I want to share these with you guys and ask for your opinion. I haven't messaged the seller yet.

1) If you click the picture of "Made in Italy" you will notice the uneven pinstripe and extra stitching of the collar yet on the back of the suit the pinstripes are all even between the collar/jacket.

2) My friend told me PS suits usually have a 6" drop and these are described as having a 9" drop with 1" to let out. Is it possible the pants are a mismatch and don't belong to a 38 jacket?

3) The picture of the inside lining - uneven ends on the white stitching where it says "The Westbourne" and "Paul Smith London 100% Wool".

Is it possible this is an imperfect suit/manufacture reject? Thanks for your help!

A 9 inch drop is an immense amount. Most suits are drop 6s, and some drop 7s.

Yes this is not the standard drop.

The question should be, what size pants do you normally wear? Can you fit into size 29?[INDENT

It looks fine to me. They are a well known seller with good feedback and a money back return policy.

If you like it and fit it, buy it.

From what I have noticed about Paul Smith suits is that the made in Italy series suits have much handwork in them. I've actually opened a few Paul Smiths and (all I have ever seen) is lots of handwork and horsehair canvassing etc. The horsehairs and shoulder pads are machine stitched but still, I wouldn't know the difference while wearing. And for the price... I´d say its much more worth having a machine stitched horsehair than a fused one.
Should be good! I´m all for Paul Smiths, me!

Thats a pretty good suit for the money. I have seen Paul Smith suits before, and consider them to be generally well constructed. For $500, I say it is worth it.

Thanks for your help everyone. I haven't heard back from the seller and I'm uneasy about the suit regardless of the price so I think I'm going to pass on this one.

For what it's worth, my genuine Paul Smith suit bought from a Paul Smith stop also has slightly misaligned stripes inside the collar, and slightly uneven stitching near the corners of the labels. It certainly isn't a 9 inch drop though, I suspect the waist on those trousers has been brought in by an inch or so.

is it possible the guy made a mistake in the description??
also, if this is true and you dont like it, you could use that as an excuse to return it, if it was indeed misrepresented.
