Opinions on this suit much appreciated. I've tried on a 52 Isaia sport coat before that fit well, although I'm not sure of its cut nor of this one (presumably they have three types of cuts: A, B, and C?). Also, it's listed as a 3 button jacket so I assume that the third button is very high on this one, i.e., 3 roll 2. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/1...r-For-Men.html

I like it. It is a 3/2 roll. Men's Ex had a segment on Isaia Aquaspider in March, 2007, issue. Pretty neat. If the price is not a deterrent, you are getting a great suit.

Thanks. I'll try to track down the segment in Men's Ex. Do you recall if it's a lightweight type fabric? I live in Miami.

I forgot to mention that Men's Ex is in Japanese language. If you really want, I could scan that page for you.

I have an Isaia suit in the same color and fabric. It's a nice suit.

Looks good to me; I like it. Does anyone have experience with this "aquaspider" fabric? What gives it the stretchy quality that the STP description mentions? The weave? STP calls it 100% wool, not a blend. Not to hijack the thread , but I've been checking out Isaia on STP too, these coats (yeah or nah votes welcome): http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/1...e-For-Men.html and http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/1...a-For-Men.html There's no mention of canvas constuction so I'm wondering if it can be assumed that means they are fused; most other Isaia coats on STP have canvassing listed in the catalogue copy. The pages do show a red label "Isaia". Does this mean they are not from the Gianluca line, which I've read here means fused? If I keep one of these, it will be the first "nice" coat I've owned (big step up from JAB), so I'm just assuming (again, from what I've read on this excellent forum) that canvassed is better than fused: more comfortable, moves better, etc., and of course I appreciate the craft as described in the recent jefferyd thread: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...ght=canvassing

STP has a very liberal return policy. If the canvassing isn't there, you send it back. You'll know in any case based on the tag inside the coat. If it's mainline Isaia, the canvassing should be there.

Red label Isaia is canvassed. Also retail $1995 also points towards this. Gianluca jackets retail for well under $1,000.

Acquaspider is a water-repellent wool fabric that Isaia developed themselves. Works fairly well.

I just ordered a suit with the aquaspider fabric at the Isaia trunk show yesterday. My understanding from what the rep told me is that the wool is coated in teflon, which gives it the waterproofing quality.
