Looking for a versatile down vest to keep me warm this winter. Daiki Suzuki says he likes this one from Western Mountaineering. It looks like it'd be good for layering under a peacoat, but is it the sort of thing you'd wear as outerwear? I'm not sure I like the shiny nylon. Your thoughts? Thanks!

I'd use it as outwear, though I'm in Seattle and can get away with that sort of thing.

Just wear the vest on its own that's what it's for.

I have a waxed olive geller down vest with hood that is pretty dope.

Yeah, it's nice that Filson makes smaller sizes -- I'm looking at a 36. Does anyone have experience with the arm lengths of their smaller pieces? I'm tall and skinny.
