Let me start off by saying that I only own one coat/jacket which is for really cold weather when you don't care how you look. I need to get something functional that looks half decent for this winter.

I would be wearing it with jeans and chucks or clarks desert boots occasionally. Also, don't think i"m getting the blue. Probably go with black. I like that it's not too puffy. I should be able to wear some layers underneath of it for when it's colder.

I think layering under a peacoat would look better.

If you already have a winter coat for the days style-be-damned, then I don't see why you should get a puffer coat. +1 the advice to get something nicer.

If you're absolutely set on a puffer, I find this one by Nau more visually interesting... http://www.nau.com/mens/categories/j...t-307M409.html

Not really set on a puffer, but I tried on the Marmot and it fit well and looked decent on me. The style-be-damned (I like that) coat hardly ever gets worn. Only on really cold, snowy days.

I just need something that is casual and some what warm that can be worn with what I initially wrote.

After I get my functional coat, I'll look at getting a few that are more outfit oriented.

I have that jacket and highly recommend it. It's not nearly as bulky as my old TNF POS puffer, and is also considerably warmer. The sides are tapered a bit and sleeves are plenty long. I also find I can dress it up (sweater and chinos) or down (jeans and hoody) fairly easily.
