Opinions on this bag for work?

Hi everyone,

I have been using my weekender as both a gym bag and a tote for my work laptop(s).
Recently realized it just wasn't cutting it anymore, and on days when I don't need to go to the gym it's just overkill size wise.

Was looking at a few leather bags that could be used to fill my purposes. I also took a look at Filson but I'd prefer leather.

I work in a very casual office environment, and often take my laptop to casual places to work (coffee etc). However, occasionally I wear a suit for business meetings and conferences, and am doing more of that lately.

My specific question: is this bag appropriate for all those uses? I am really taken by this bag, but I want to make sure it doesn't come across as too 'rugged' or casual to dress up for work needs. Thoughts?

It's the 'Ralph' bag by Aunts and Uncles.

Thanks for the feedback!

My alternate choice (if going with a canvas bag) is the Want Essentiels Haneda.
I know, night and day differences in styling.

Since you're looking for a good bag for all your purposes, I would recommend the first one you shared. Another good option, if you're looking for something that can carry a lot, would be some sort of a tote bag. They're big and have lots of room for whatever you need. The messenger/briefcase style that you have selected is going to give a more professional image, however, which is why I use this style as well.

The first will look off with a suit. For reference, I work at an investment bank, so take my perspective into consideration.

I personally like the second bag. I like the Hermes Depeches Briefcase, but that's only if you have the money to burn.

It's a nice bag! Have you checked out Filson bags? They are somewhat in between casual and formal.

First is a 'no' - totally unsuited to work if you want to be taken seriously. Second is OK but looks to be more handles than bag! You can do better - go look in a real shop or two.
