Opinions on the quality of Tom Ford sunglasses?

What's the reputation of Tom Ford sunglasses like around here? I'm sure you end up paying a bit extra for the design, as you're bound to with a brand like Tom Ford, but at least in the classic menswear Tom Ford is known for excellent quality as well, so I was wondering if that is also the case for his sunglasses or not (or if there is even much of a quality difference between sunglasses at all?).

Not sure about the rep, because everyone here wears JMM as far as I can tell. But if your committed to getting a pair, I do see them show up regularly on Gilt, at a supposed discount...

I've had two pairs of Tom Ford eyeglasses. They are good quality. But after trying some other high end glasses brands I wouldn't buy them again and definitely not full price, but that's more of a styling choice rather than the quality of the glasses. Before buying a pair check ebay or other online retailers. The glasses shops near me have huge mark-ups on Tom Ford eyewear.

Tom Ford eyewear is manufactured in Italy by Marcolin, which is a fairly respected Italian eyewear manufacturer. I think the consensus on the forum is it's slightly above Luxottica and Safilo quality-wise.
