IMG_1093.JPG IMG_1094.JPG IMG_1095.JPG Hello Gentlemen,
I'm looking for some input on this coat. I adore this price, and fear I may be lying to myself that it isn't all together too large. Do you think it could be tailored a bit for a better fit, or is it a lost cause? Please note the shirt I'm wearing is neither the right length or collar type I'd probably end up wearing with this coat. Thanks for any input :)

I don't see anywhere to make any adjustments other than possibly shortening the sleeves to show some cuff. It is already nipped at the waist, and any more in that area will look bad. The vent opens slightly and a good tailor may be able to do something about it. Otherwise, what are your concerns?

Thank you. Mildly concerned it may be a bit too long (but looking at photos, it actually doesn't seem that way to me). I'm unsure whether the broad shoulders look appropriate or not, something I'd have relied on my (ex)wife for in the past. There is a little bit of fabric wave in the middle of the back, hard to make out in the photo; I've wondered if the back seam being taken in a small amount would rectify this, but how that would affect the general fit. From the waist down it does seem like something should be down about how open and loose it is, probably relating the vent opening as you say.
I am happy to know it doesn't scream "poor size", I do quite like it.

It is not too long for this style of jacket. If you go a size down to bring in the shoulders it would need to be let out at the waist--bad idea. The shoulders only look wide from the back due to the waist being nipped.

It's a good fit for that style of jacket.

Hi there,

I see what you mean. For a casual sports jacket, the shoulder pads are too structured, giving it way too mich formality. You can see the problem with the low set 2 button front without a tie, exposing the shirt placket making it look even more empty.

The left lapel seems to lift off the shirt when closed - along with the fabric bunching in the bqck which you've described. Although the sleeves are manageable, the high viewpoint of the photo doesn't give an eyeline level of the lower hem cut. It looks like it is too long as you've feared - a smarter short cut would work better with a 2 button sports jacket and do away with the nude placket problem.

Hunt around - you will find a better fit.
