Here I have been looking (almost 18 months now) for a high end brown sportcoat that was in a great pattern and capable of being dressed up or down- I think I got it. More than I wanted to spend in the end, but still a great price IMO. I didn't buy it to be extremely versatile, but that said does anyone have opinions on what it would work well with besides tan trousers and jeans? My next (and final) sportcoat will be black- I hope between the 2 and a couple of suits I'm covered for the forseeable future.

I like it, although it clearly measures out to a 44L rather than a 46R as described. Â I saw a very similar Zegna sportscoat in my size at Last Call on Sunday, with an orange windowpane. When I went back to NM yesterday to agonize over the decision whether to buy, it was gone. Â My credit card thanks whoever bought that jacket.

I think the jacket would go well with blue slacks, and red/burgundy cords, as well as tan trousers and jeans.

How did you know that it measure out to a 44 instead of a 46? Just curious. Thanks.

I agree, but I have a Corneliani suit coat with the EXACT same measurements that fit me well before this, um, additional girth set in

Gotta get to work. BTW I am 5'11" and prefer a slightly longer jacket, around 33"... I was willing to deal with the extra .5" on this one.

Most every sportcoat/suit will have a chest cut of 2-4" higher than the tag- ie, a normal 46 would have a 48-50 inch chest. Some makers cut to the slim side (2), some to the generous (4). This coat would be to me a generous 44.

No worries then. Â Always good to have motivation to work out.

There's a gray stripe in there, so you can also try medium to darker gray worsted trousers (doesn't seem heavy enough for flannels). Blue or cream solid shirt. Blue tie with brown or gray pattern (larger patterns so that it can be seen against the jacket pattern).Tan (not too brown or dark) pants are probably the most obvious choice. Brown, maybe cordovan shoes, depending on how light the pants are. My two cents. Nice jacket.

looks FARMER...11 /obligatory

Looks very nice. I think brown sportcoats are by far the most versatile. In addition to the colors you mentioned above, match with greys and blues.
