So I currently own a pair of Hallam in black, and a pair of Sydney loafers in dark brown burnished calf. I want to get a pair of oxfords in brown, and am unsure as to what I should get.

I'd really like a pair of the Audley, but I wonder if I should get a different style as these are so similar to my hallams, just in a different colour:

I also quite like the Edgware:

    The westbourne aren't bad:

    And finally the weymouth:

    Any thoughts?

I have never worn any of them, but as a work of practical art, that Edgware is one beautiful shoe.

I own the last pair you posted and have gotten a lot of compliments. I never owned a pair of whole-cut shoes before until I got this however, I really like the profile of the last and the simplicity of the lines of the shoes.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'm leaning towards the Edgware. The Weymouth are beautiful but I think I'm going to get a pair of wholecut oxfords in black rather than brown.

Any opinions on whether it's ok to get two pairs in a very similar style such as black Hallam with brown audley?

Preponderance of opinion I have read seems to say "go different."

I think your answer, in large measure, depends on your overall philosophy of dressing.

If you own a shoe, like it, don't crave sartorial adventure, buying it in another color makes perfect sense. Selecting one that the average person would not readily distinguish from another seems to me to have neither the advantages of familiarity, nor the joys of variety.

Make sure to try them on first. The 337 and 348 are very different with regards to fit. The 337 is significantly wider, especially through the forefoot.

That's a great point, thanks for the input!
