Opinions about my new suit

I'm going to be starting work in July and I bought a couple dark suits to celebrate (haha, kidding).

Anyway, what do you think about this one & what points should I look towards when selecting my next suit (a lighter coloured one for sure).

Thanks,

D.

Pants are still unhemmed, obviously.

Oh and my other suit I had hemmed so that there were cuffs. I always thought this was more classy, but at the same time a much older look. This suit is less conservative, much more fitted, and actually european. I think that I should hem it normally, such that there's no cuff. Opinions about that?

You'll get better feedback with better pics: Wear a dress shirt so we can see collar structure and more easily check sleeve length. Jack the contrast way up so you're not just a big, black blob.

Good point. I'm actually at work now and I would have taken better pictures but these are from a while ago and I just found them on my computer so I posted them. I'll take better pictures soon and ask again.

Since this suit appears to be more hip & modern, I'd certainly agree that it would be better to have it hemmed than cuffed.

Congrats, on your new job & new suits, & good luck!

I found some old pictures of my old suit (brooks brothers):

I'm going to get better pictures of my new suit soon, but what do you think of this one?

To my untrained eyes, it doesn't fit you well. It's too baggy. The sleeves are ok. Also, button the top button only.

The BB suit is way too short. Don't ever go back to the sales person who sold you that. The pants are much to baggy too. Would get rid of it. I don't think its wearable. The new suit looks much better imho.

I actually got the BB at a thrift for something like $28 and I figured that it was passable. I went through all my interviews in that suit. The new one is definitely much better. In fact maybe I'll try to get those pictures out now...

Ok, not ****** pictures (although they're still bad...my crap apartment is hardly designed for humans, let alone self-indulgent photography)... ...somethings to consider - I don't know what my collar was doing in some of the later shots...they just shot up and it looks goofy in retrospect. The neck was a bit tighter on this shirt than I have previously remembered (I'm doing neck excercizes though), which may have led to the popping effect you observe. Also the arms a tad short. Oh well, I just randomly picked a shirt...I'm more interested in your opinion about the suit

Try taking photos outside. I can't tell **** about this suit from these pictures other than that it appears to be a 3-button. And, the waist appears to exist, which is a good sign.

Does your suit have a vent? Your pictures are way too dark.

Can't see the pics well, but from what I can see, your new suit appears to be fashion fowarded. Regardless, it looks good, I would just shorten 1/4 inch on left sleeve.

As others have said, a picture in better lighting would help.

But, based on what can be seen (assuming you bought a regular length suit, e.g. 42R), you might want to consider the same suit in a long (e.g., 42L).

The back of the suit doesn't seem to fully cover your seat. A rule of thumb (no pun intended) is that the sides of the jacket should fall roughly to the second knuckle of your fingers (your suit does not appear to do this). However, arm lengths vary and this isn't a hard and fast rule. Regardless of the rule, the suit appears a bit short.
