greetings. I am working on developing some men's items for my new clothing company. I have a technique that I have developed to create ultra fine, gosamer looking fabric from cotton or silk and then hand dye it.

in your opinion, would there be any interest in pocket squares or men's scarves made of this kind of fabirc?

It depends on what they look like. My only concern would be that too fine a fabric is not robust/colour-saturated enough to pull off what a solid silk pocket square does.

Perhaps you could post some pictures?

Yeah, depends whether the fabric has enough body to hold a puff or point without collapsing, if it's too fine it may not be able to. Obviously the colour & patterns make a difference too, though I think a light desaturated-looking colour could actually look good with a summer outfit.

I would be worried about the color bleeding off onto my shirt or suit.

good points guys and thanks. the material is very very gauzy and would not stand up at the points. you would have to use it more with that puff kinda look I see some dudes use with their squares.

Wouldn't rolling the edges stiffen it enough to keep it's shape? Just a thought. I have a very, very thin -- almost translucent -- handkerchief that I sometimes use as a pocket square in the summer. It keeps its shape only because the edges are handrolled.

I have a couple of very gauzy cashmere squares, I think by Facconable, that are really lovely. As you said, they work better in a puff, or folded in half with puff and points both out.
