Could you pull off these suede oxfords with a navy suit (HUGO slim fit) for a summer wedding? I'm not sure if they're too casual or not.

    Welcome to Styleforum creed84.
I would not wear suede shoes of any kind to a wedding but I speak only for myself.

I should probably mention it's an outdoor garden wedding. Not sure if that changes anything.

I wouldn't unless I knew I was already going to be overdressed compared to others, which is rare at a common wedding but possible. How I usually think: "Is a man who I could (realistically) potentially work with/for going to be there, and is he going to raise an eyebrow at this? Is a woman I'm potentially going to be with or am already with going to raise an eyebrow to this?" If yes to either of these, I go more conservative. If no, I wear whatever the item in question is.

This is monumentally bad advice. "Hell with it, I'll wear what I want" works for stuff where clothes don't matter -- it's my approach a fair bit of the time -- but as a guest at a wedding, clothes do matter. Also, seriously? A fedora? Do I have to explain what's wrong with that?

Those shoes would be all wrong (too casual) with a navy suit, wedding or not.

Don't try to pull off things which you are not certain. Too casual as you said it yourself

I guess just try them on and see if you like them... although you are probably asking this before buying.

With a pair of chinos they could rock but with the full suit... just not sure about it. Think you would need to go more formal.

While, they are still ugly, it should be noted that they are not oxfords, they are derbies.

My opinion is that those shoes aren't oxfords.

Well, it isn't a matter of opinion. The fact is, they are not oxfords.

They are not Oxfords, they are extremely ugly and no you could not.

Jeans if you must but not buying them would make more sense.

Thanks for the input. They are actually pretty nice shoes but are definitely more casual. I'll stick with the more safe stuff this go around. I decided to get myself a nice pair of AE Strand's. It will be my first pair of AE's. Pretty stoked about them.
